Course Objectives:
This course covers the theory and techniques of manual massage techniques as applied to the upper and lower extremities. This course covers lab demonstrations on performing therapeutic massage techniques. The aim of he course is to establish the students to perform therapeutic massage techniques as a manual skill.
Course Content:
Action mechanisms of classical massage, techniques, dosage, cases where indicated and contraindicated, accurate positioning and regional applications (face, neck, back, lumbar region, abdominal massage, thigh, leg, foot, arm-forearm and hand massage reflex areas, Connective Tissue Massage (CTM) induced reactions, in which diseases they are applied, assessment methods, basic region, the lower thoracic-scapular-interscapular, cervical, and occipital, arm-forearm-hand, thigh-leg-foot, pelvic and abdominal, chest and face area, where CTM application methods are applied is included in this course.
