Course Objectives:
1- Understand the Approaches Model
2- Identify common features of autism and other challenges of
relating and communicating
3- Identify the key features of relationship-based approaches
4- Know the “6 Functional Emotional Developmental Capacities
(FEDCs)” in the model and potential challenges that children
face at each capacity
.5- Understand the “individual differences” in children’s ways of
modulating sensations, language functioning, motor planning
and sequencing
.6- Understand the role of relationship and family with the
Floortime Model Approaches in Physiotherapy
Course Content:
This is an introductory course that reviews the theoretical framework, scientific evidence, and scope of application of the Floortime Model, promoting functional emotional developmental capacities, reflective thinking, and overall mental health for all children and adults, including those with special needs.
