1. Projects within the scope of cooperation with TUBITAK
1.1. Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Assist. Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Yazıcı Mutlu, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, has been entitled to receive support within the scope of TÜBİTAK-ARDEB #3501 Career Development support program (27/02/2024). 1.2. Faculty Member of our department Assist. Prof. Dr. Elif Tuğçe Çil Sertöz, a faculty member of our department, and Halide Şeyma Terzioğlu, a 4th-year student of our department, conducted a research titled “Telerehabilitation Perspective on Pain Management of Musculoskeletal System: Telerehab- AG” has been entitled to receive support under the TÜBİTAK-2209-A university students research projects program (10/10/2023). 1.3. TUBITAK support was received within the scope of TUBITAK 2223 B for the International Participatory Congress “Multidisciplinary Approaches in Pelvic Pain Management and Rehabilitation,” and the Congress Book was published. It was published online. Click here for the congress book.
2. Projects in Collaboration with Internal Stakeholders
2.1. Ayres Sensory Integration Test Evaluation Results and Neurodevelopmental-Focused Counseling in Children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders
Yeditepe University Development and Education Center Sensory Perception-Motor Unit provides multidisciplinary services with a sensory integration approach for infants and children who have difficulty in sensory perception, organization and translation into motor skills. As a result of the comprehensive evaluation carried out in the unit, the necessary approaches for the following problems and the individual needs of the child are planned and implemented by the academicians of our department. Within the scope of the project, Ayres Sensory Integration Test Evaluation and Neurodevelopmental Focused Counseling services are provided. The program is planned for children between the ages of 5-12 of Yeditepe University and ISTEK Foundation employees. It is aimed at evaluating and providing counseling on sensory and motor skills such as touch, taste, hearing sounds, smell, vision, balance, and body awareness. Click here for detailed information.
2.2. Improving the Quality of Life of Women with Chronic Pelvic Pain
This project, developed to improve the quality of life of individuals with chronic pelvic pain, is both supported by scientific research and reflected to the society through clinical applications. Within the scope of this project, academicians of our department contribute to the pain management and treatment processes of patients with clinical studies carried out at Yeditepe University Hospital.
2.3. Digital Steps
Since 2017, within the scope of the project, 150 patients have been reached so far with our community service project in cooperation with our department's hospitals and orthopedists, and the preventive physiotherapy program has been applied to patients with foot and ankle problems. 3. Projects in Cooperation with External Stakeholders
3.1. Online Exercise Program for the Elderly
On 12.02.2019, within the scope of the cooperation protocol signed with Kadıköy Municipality, exercise programs for elderly individuals have been organized since 2019. The project is carried out in partnership with our department and Kadıköy Municipality Social Life House. Click here for detailed information.
4. Projects in Cooperation with Internal and External Stakeholders
4.1. Comparison of the Effectiveness of Synchronous and Asynchronous Exercise Programs in Patients with Multiple Sclerosis
In collaboration with Yeditepe University Kosuyolu Hospital - Neurology Department and our department, a multidisciplinary approach is adopted for the treatment and rehabilitation processes of multiple sclerosis patients. This project aims to improve the quality of life of patients by increasing their physical capacity. Multiple Sclerosis patients who apply to Prof. Dr. Rana Karabudak, a neurology physician, are subjected to a comprehensive physiotherapy evaluation by the instructors of our department and personalized structured exercise recommendations are presented to them. So far, 17 participants have been included in our project, which has been applied to the Tübitak 1002-A Rapid Support Program. Among these participants, 7 of them have completed the 4-week exercise program and have been included in the 2nd evaluation. All participants are continuing their exercise programs and new participants are being added. Click here for detailed information.
